Want to do an internship at 10forKIDS? This is my experience!
If you still have doubts about following your internship at 10forKIDS, I would like to give you an impression of my internship at 10forKIDS from July 2020 to December 2020.
My name is Joyce Strijdonck (40) and I have an 11-year-old daughter.
I worked for a long time at a bailiff’s office, but in 2015 I decided to make a career switch. I completed the study pedagogical employee Youth Care in December 2020 after I completed my internship at 10forKIDS. I would like to tell you more about my internship experience, which I hope to inspire you to choose 10forKIDS in particular😉.
I experienced my internship period as very positive. I think this is also largely due to the fine guidance I received from my internship supervisor Agnes. For example, she taught me how to apply the “dry” substance from my books in practice. She also gave an important place to applying daily rhythm and structure for the children and I benefited greatly from this. The personal guidance by Agnes has been very valuable. In addition, the entire 10forKIDS team has been very helpful.
I mainly spent my internship at the After School Care. This was an educational period and I was able to combine work and learning well.
Together with the children, various assignments and activities were carried out on a daily basis (varying from making pizza yourself to a treasure hunt with games). You teach children how to deal with their emotions by first reflecting on them: what are emotions actually and how do you recognize them and how do you deal with them?
The children but also their parents as well helped me a lot during my internship. I received information from parents and I was able to have the necessary conversations with children. This allowed me to get to know parents and children better. Thank you!
After graduating, I immediately started working at 10forKIDS, where I still enjoy it very much.
